Although you can easily use this small kit as a one-time-only exploration into oil painting (and simply use up all the materials), you would need a brush cleaner if you wish to preserve the two paint brushes. Oil paint solvents such as Turpentine, Turpenoid or Mineral Spirits are toxic and cannot be shipped by the Post Office, but are available at your local hardware store, if not already in your own paint supply cupboard. Please note that this product is NOT labeled AP or CP non-toxic. The label features the ASTM D-4236 code and notes that the item is not suitable for children under age 3. KidsArt would additionally recommend that oil painting is only suitable for kids age 12 or older, and only with adult supervision and discussion on the safe use of art products.
