The Adventures of Tintin
Classic Comics for Kids
For more than a decade, KidsArt has offered the great Tintin books for kids...not just a couple titles, but the complete Tintin set...every one of the 21 titles available in the US.
The Tintin books are classic comics, published in Europe from the 1930's through the early 70's. Tintin the boy reporter and his faithful dog Snowy have pleased generations of youngsters. Originally written in French, these stories have probably taught more kids how to read than countless textbooks. What kid could resist reading these lively stories, filled with slapstick humor and adventure where the good guys always win! And to top it all off, the artwork is exquisite...Herge was a superb draughtsman and Tintin is a masterpiece of cartoon art!
Tintin and Snowy travel the world along with a colorful cast of good guys and bad guys. Although the stories have been edited and revised over the years, many of the characters are not completely "politically correct" and should be understood as part of our literary history. There aren't many strong female role models here...Tintin is from the era of "boys" stories. But my daughter didn't seem to mind...she discovered Tintin the summer between 1st and 2nd grade, and fell so in love with the adventures that she collected the entire set and read them again and again over the years.
The Tintin books are big, full-color paperbacks...60 pages each. Select from the titles listed below in order of their original publication (you'll find the stories described on their individual pages). If acceptable, please list an alternate title in the comment box on our order form...just in case we're temporarily out of one of the books you order.
We also invite you to visit our Links to Other Great Web Sites page, where you'll discover a couple great international Tintin links.
